Deen Groothuizen (30) is a cultural anthropologist, social entrepreneur, and queer all-round creative based in Rotterdam. As a trans and non-binary person, Deen calls themself the Genderbrutale Boef of Rotterdam – a playful yet pointed reference to their work at the intersection of gender, sexuality, and social justice.

 

Deen gives lectures, trainings, and workshops on gender and sexual diversity, and is active as a speaker, writer, presenter, moderator, and lived-experience expert. They also run a queer music studio in Rotterdam West: a creative, safe space where identity and expression come together. With a mix of in-depth knowledge, personal storytelling, and activist flair, Deen creates space for change, awareness, and connection.
